It’s amazing how long 4 years ago really can feel. Back in 2008 I was a bus boy and when The Dark Knight came out one of my favourite things to say was “People out there are dining, what would you have me do?”

OH.MY… People out there are dining, you guise! THEY’RE DINING!

THE DISHES ARE DIRTIEST BEFORE THE WASH! BUT THE WASH IS COMING!

Some men just want to watch the food burn.

You wanna know how I got these steaks?

You either die a bus boy, or live long enough to see yourself become a waiter.

(desperately grasping to make a TDK pun; apologies to those in the food industry…)

If you make yourself more than just a bus boy, if you devote yourself to a restaurant, you become something else entirely. A CHEF DE CUISINE!

Where is the recipe? WHERE? (I hope people get this one)

Targeting me won’t get their cutlery back. I knew the diners wouldn’t go down without a fight, but this is different. They crossed the line.

Fun fact: This was improvised. The building was meant to explode and come down in one go and the crew had one take to get it right. When the explosions malfunctioned, Ledger reacted in character, and Nolan urged his crew to keep filming. By pure chance, it resulted in one of the greatest moments in the movie, and a moment that perfectly showcased Joker’s anarchic nature and Ledger’s sheer talent.

Funner fact: this is the only part where i loved LedgerJoker. Without the script he was given I believe he could have won me over.
